Auto-calibration

The auto-calibration feature can be used, should any operational issues arise while using the Rohloff E-14 system (e.g. inability to shift one or more gears). This feature reminds the software where the end positions are located so it can calculate its current position, thus ensuring the Rohloff E-14 system is still able to shift through the entire 526% range.

Important

The calibration process is not usually necessary, as both the Rohloff E-14, 2.0 electronic shifter unit, and Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 are synchronized in the factory prior to shipping.

Calibration Process

Switch Bosch eBike System “off“.

Press and hold both “+“ and “-“ buttons of the Rohloff E-14 Switch simultaneously!

Switch Bosch eBike System back “on“, while keeping both “+“ and “-“ buttons held down!

Keep holding the “+“ and “-“ buttons depressed until the Rohloff E-14 2.0 Shifter Unit commences with the auto-calibration process (approximately 10 seconds).
The message 1C7446 appears in the display (calibration started).
The “+“ and “-“ buttons can be released as soon as the autocalibration process commences. Wait for the auto-calibration process to cease (no more audible shift noises omitting from the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14).

When the automatic calibration is completed, the message 1C7447 appears in the display (calibration successful) and is acoustically confirmed by the E-14 2.0 switching unit:

Successful calibration: 3 x start beeps from the E-14 2.0 switching unit

Unsuccessful calibration: long beep

Switch Bosch eBike System “on“.

The auto-calibration process has been completed!

If autocalibration fails multiple times, please use manual calibration.
